It looks like Ives Galarcep is reporting that Robbie Findley could be returning to MLS, but not to the Portland Timbers who have held his rights for the past few years while he dabbled in the English Championship. According to Ives, Real Salt Lake have traded for the rights to Robbie Findley ands plan on bringing him back very soon.
According to ives, there's little knowledge of what RSL traded to the Timbers in exchange for Findley's rights, but he speculates that it could be a SuperDraft pick or allocation money, my guess would be the latter given that Portland clearly has little inclination for this year's SuperDraft.
This announcement comes just a few minutes after Merritt Paulson tweeted that a trade was to be completed this week. While certainly not confirmed, this could be the trade that Paulson was referencing in his tweet. While perhaps disappointing to some, the fact that the Timbers are expected to get anything for Robbie Findley is pretty great.
As usual, nothing is confirmed as of yet.
What do you think of the Timbers getting something in exchange for Findley's rights?
