Some news that actually came out yesterday, but was lost in the flurry of events throughout the day. It appears that both Ryan Johnson and Donovan Ricketts will be heading off to take part in Jamaica's World Cup Qualifier for their February 6th game against Mexico.
The two will depart from the training camp tomorrow and fly to Mexico City where they'll meet up with the Jamaican national team. The game itself will take place at Estadio Azteca which is know for being a particularly harsh stadium to play at due to the hostile atmosphere and elevation.
In addition to Johnson and Ricketts, Rodney Wallace has also been called up by Costa Rica for their World Cup Qualifier against Panama on the same day. Wallace has remained with his national side since joining the team for the Copa Centroamericana, which they won on January 27th.
All in all this is good news for all three players. More time spent with the national team is always good and it'll serve all three players well to get some meaningful minutes in competitive matches. Good luck to all of them on Wednesday.
What do you think about Johnson, Ricketts and Wallace playing in the World Cup Qualifiers?
