In what may be the Timbers' shortest press release to date, the Timbers announced that they have traded Vancouver the rights to English midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. In return the Timbers picked up the 2014 and 2015 natural second round draft picks of the Whitecaps.

Reo-Coker's move to Major League Soccer has been rumored for some time with recent reports indicating that he would have been here sooner but for a delay in negotiations thanks to Portland's discovery claim on him. A veteran of the English Championship and Premier League since he was seventeen, Reo-Coker, 28, will likely line up at right back for the Whitecaps.
