Who will earn community bragging rights?

Some of you asked if we were going to have a fantasy league again this year and after discussion I have offered to take on the responsibility of creating the league and also managing a team. Last year the only way to sign up for a team was through Facebook, but thankfully they have stopped that practice and now you can sign up for a MLS Network account to create a team so we should get a lot more community members involved!

Directions to sign up:

  1. Go to http://fantasy.mlssoccer.com/ and near the top right corner select Log In
  2. Chose if you want to log in VIA social network or through an MLS network account (If you don't have an MLS network account select the link near the bottom right corner to create one)
  3. Once logged follow the instructions to create your team
This year they have two different types of leagues to chose from, the classic league and the head to head league. I chose to create a league in both so you can join the one you like the best or join both. See below for the league number you need to join and an explanation of how the scoring works. To join a league select the league menu near the top of the page and then select "Join a League." Next select the Private league option and then enter the code below.

Classic League

Teams are ranked based on the total points in the game. In the event of a tie between teams, the team who has made the least transfers will be positioned higher.

Head to head league

Each round you will play a match against another team in the league, with a match result based on game scores. 3 points will be awarded for a win and 1 point for a draw. In the event of a tie, the team with the most game points will be positioned higher.

Any points deducted for making transfers leading up to the round will be deducted from your head to head score.

If your league has an odd number of teams then an average player will be added to ensure everyone has a match each round. The average player will score the average game points each round.
