This brief training report is getting typed up during my break at work, so pardon the lack of fun stuff like quotes or detail.
Today's practice was a short, closed session at Jeld-Wen field. Practice kicked off with the usual warm ups before being closed off to the press, although the field was set up for a series of keep away games.
Injuries and Absences
Diego Valeri warmed up with the team today but was confirmed by the Timbers to be still going through the league's return to play protocol. Valeri could potentially be cleared for tomorrow, but according to Caleb Porter is unlikely to play regardless.
Andrew Jean-Baptiste and Mikael Silvestre both warmed up with the team today. The Timbers' current first choice defenders were both held out of practice earlier this week as they recovered from last weekend's game against the Houston Dynamo. Silvestre is listed as being questionable with an adductor strain on the team's injury report. When Porter was asked about their status, it sounded like both players would be game-day decisions.
Sal Zizzo was once again warming up with the rest of the team today after completing his recovery from surgery to repair his left meniscus one month ago.
