Portland Timbers vs. San Jose Earthquakes Prediction Thread

The Portland Timbers will take on Western Conference rivals the San Jose Earthquakes tomorrow night. How do you think the game will play out?

Jaime Valdez-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome back to our weekly prediction thread! As usual, we want your crystal ball predictions of how the upcoming game will turn out, but first let's take a look at how people did last week.

Over all, people were much more on target than they have previously. That makes sense because, as Timbers fans, people usually predict them to win and last weekend was the first time they actually did so. That said, I did notice a trend where predictions were much less likely to be shut outs. Nearly everybody had the Timbers giving up at least one goal, some as many as three.

The person with the closest prediction was TheBeardedWonder with a very late prediction of the Timbers taking a 2-nil win with Ryan Johnson scoring in the first half and Frederic Piquionne scoring in the second. While not perfect, it was pretty close. The runner-up was AkronSnape with a 2-nil win, but Piquionne scoring in the first half and Diego Chara scoring in the second. Hats off to them both for making solid predictions.

And now onto the game at hand. The last time these two teams met the game ended in a 3-3 thriller during the preseason tournament. Keep that in mind.

Here's what we want:

  • Game score.
  • Who scored those goals?
  • Which half?

What's your prediction for the Portland Timbers vs. San Jose Earthquakes game?
