Report: Portland Timbers Player Questioned by Kansas City Police; Released Afterwards

KATU has reported on a Portland Timbers player being brought in for questioning by the Kansas City police.

A recent report by KATU has revealed that a Portland Timbers player was called in for questioning on Sunday after an alleged rape within the same hotel that the team was staying at. No charges were filed against said player and, as such, his identity will not be revealed.

There's really not much more to say about this story. KATU seemingly attempted to connect the player as being called in because he was a suspect in the alleged rape, though that's not at all clear. There are plenty of easy ways to jump to conclusions with regards to this story, but until all the details come out in the next few weeks, it's certainly not fair to anybody involved to assume something like that.

The player returned to Portland with the Timbers Sunday afternoon.

For their part the Portland Timbers issued this statement:

"There are no criminal charges filed against any of our players. The club will not be commenting further at this time."

Therefore, it's probably best to just calm down, let this thing get worked out by the proper authorities and whoever is involved.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss, but I urge people not to jump to conclusions or attempt to name names.
