I am ashamed to admit that when the Portland Timbers had already lost David Horst and Diego Valeri and used two of their substitutions less than 30 minutes into the game I thought Well, maybe we'll get our first win next week. I offer my most sincere apologies to the Timbers, who clearly did not share my defeatist attitude.
Instead, having watched two of their teammates leave the field early due to injuries, the Timbers seemed ready for a fight and we got to see their best, most complete performance yet. Here are some of my favorite photos from the sidelines Saturday night.
