This evening the Portland Timbers will take on Cascadian rivals the Vancouver Whitecaps in a match that's hugely important not only for the three points, for for regional domination. To add to that the Timbers will be hoping to keep their undefeated streak alive at the same time as winning away from home at BC Place for the third year in a row. It should be very exciting, to say the least.
But first, let's check out last week's results.
Obviously, given the tone of the Chivas USA game there were a few wild predictions that we all enjoyed, however most people were generally fairly close anyways. But of course you can't all be winners. Only two people managed to peg the score just right:
- PortlandatHeart - 3-nil Timbers victory with Diego Valeri scoring in the first half and Darlington Nagbe and Ryan Johnson scoring in the second.
- Wendy.herrin.13 - 3-nil Timbers victory with Ryan Johnson, Kalif Alhassan, and Futty Danso scoring in the second half.
I'm a little surprised that more of you didn't predict Rodney Wallace scoring. He's been on such a tear lately. Regardless, congratulations to our winners.
Moving back to today's game, this one should be interesting to predict. On the one hand, the Timbers have always won at BC Place. On the other hand, this current Vancouver Whitecaps squad can either be terrible or amazing. Which team will we see today? No idea. Still, given that it's a road game, you should probably temper your expectations as such.
What's your Cascadia Cup match day prediction?
