Tomorrow night will see the USMNT take on Panama in World Cup Qualifying. Just last Friday the Nats managed to salvage three points on their away trip to Kingston, Jamaica by scoring in the final minutes. This time, however, the boys will be playing on home soil. More than that, they'll be playing in Seattle, the closest they've played to Portland since 2009 -- also in Seattle.
It's no lie that the Pacific Northwest has been glaringly absent in recent years from national team games. Given how well we support the sport at large in this region, it was something of a running insult/joke as time after time places such as Detroit and Tennessee were given national team games ahead of us. Now, not only are we getting a very important qualifying game in Seattle, but Portland itself will be hosting a CONCACAF Gold Cup match in just under a months time. That's impressive!
But back to the subject at hand, with the USMNT World Cup Qualifying game so close to Portland, I'm curious to know how many of you are planning on making the trip tomorrow.
Are you heading north to watch the USMNT take on Panama? Are you waiting for the Gold Cup game to get your USA fix?
