With the U.S. Men's National Team facing Panama in Seattle tonight, they are the focus of a lot of the soccer chatter out there today and are the primary focus of today's roundup as well. To those of you making the trip to Seattle, have fun and be safe!
Who should the USMNT start vs. Panama?
With Jermaine Jones recovering from a concussion and Graham Zusi suspended due to yellow card accumulation, Klinsmann will have to make changes to the squad that beat both Germany and Jamaica.
USA (and MLS): Five things we learned
I'm including this primarily for point #4, "Seattle Sounders fans put Cascadia first." Around 36,000 tickets have been sold for the game, but Seattle seems to be drawing criticism for that number, relative to the 53,679 who came to see Seattle play Vancouver. I don't very often rush to Seattle's defense, but this seems like people making something from nothing. What do you think? Should tonight's game have outdrawn the Cascadia Cup match up?
13 100-Word Predictions: United States vs. Panama
Brief previews of tonight's match.
USMNT Notes: Temporary grass not a major problem for squad on eve of Panama qualifier
The players talk about the field in Seattle.
US Fans Angry at beIN SPORT Coverage
U.S. fans were already not wild about having their away qualifiers shown on beIN and the network sort of proved fans right when they cut away from the U.S.-Jamaica match to show highlights from Paraguay-Chile which, by the way, was on after shortly the USMNT game. Seems like anyone really dying to see the goals in that game could have just waited until then.
Designated Player: On the Road With the U.S. Open Cup and on the Comeback Trail With Danny Szetela
After having his career derailed by injuries, Danny Szetela tries to get back into professional soccer.
And lastly, there's this disappointing news from Twitter:
USMNT News- Herculez Gomez released from USMNT, will train/rehab in LA. #USMNT
