The Portland Thorns got a well deserved break after their last game against Sky Blue FC. Perhaps not quite as long as the Timbers' current 10 day break, but surely enough so that key players like Alex Morgan and Christine Sinclair get the chance to bounce back from a hectic schedule prior. Today the Thorns return to Kansas City to take on FCKC. This is the second time the Thorns will have played in Kansas City this season.
Here are the details for the match:

Final Thoughts
The Thorns seem to be constantly trailing Sky Blue FC these days. What used to be a Thorns dominated league is now thoroughly a two horse race. SBFC plays a game later tonight. If the Thorns can win the game tonight it puts them in solid shape to take the lead. If they lose, however, they give Sky Blue FC a chance to put quite a bit of distance between themselves and the Thorns. Obviously, if both teams win their respective games nothing changes in the standings. SBFC will still be a point ahead. Luckily, as with the Thorns, SBFC plays away from home tonight so it shouldn't necessarily be an easy match for them to win.
