The Portland Thorns play at home once again in NWSL regular season play. This time they host FC Kansas City, the team that they opened the season with. With the Thorns currently sitting at 19 points, three points behind league leaders Sky Blue FC, a victory tonight is needed to ensure they remain in contention for that top spot by the end of August. Otherwise, with SBFC playing the Western New York Flash on Saturday, there's a distinct chance that the gap between the two sides could significantly widen.
Here's all the information for tonight's match:

Final Thoughts
Rachel Buehler, Alex Morgan, Christine Sinclair and Karina Leblanc should all be back for tonight's game after missing last weekend's match due to national team duty. Everybody always said how lucky the Thorns were for getting so many high quality national teamers, but last weekend was a prime example of how it could end up hurting more than helping. Hopefully, with their return, we see the Portland Thorns who put on such an impressive performance prior.
