The Portland Timbers held a closed training session today at the team's Beaverton training facility. Today's practice was the Timbers last before they leave tomorrow for Philadelphia, where the team will have a day to practice before taking on the Philadelphia Union.

Injuries and Absences

Sebastian Rincon continued his absence from the team as he spends time training in Argentina. According to Caleb Porter, Rincon will be rejoining the Timbers and not immediately going on loan thanks to a paperwork issue, but he could still go out on loan in the future.

Bright Dike continued his road to recovery today, taking part in another limited training session.

Dylan Tucker-Gangnes took another step forward in his recovery from the concussion he suffered in practice three weeks ago as he took part in the team's warm ups today.

David Horst, Brent Richards, and Mikael Silvestre remain out on long term injuries, while Rodney Wallace is still with Costa Rica on national team duty following their second place finish in their group in the CONCACAF Gold Cup (behind 'Merica).

Trialists and Guest Players

David Meves and Reinaldo Brenes of the Portland Timbers U-23s practiced with the team today. Brenes scored the tying goal in last night's U-23s match against the Seattle Sounders U23s with a curled 25-yard free kick into the corner of the net. The game was the U-23s final match of the regular season and sealed the second place spot in their division.
