The Portland Thorns once again hit the road after a two game home run that saw the Thorns earn just 1 out of a possible 6 points. I don't think I need to emphasize this at all, but it's becoming increasingly clear that the Thorns are struggling in the latter half of their inaugural season. Today they have a chance to right the ship. If the Boston Breakers were able to come to Portland and shut out the Thorns in a 2-nil defeat, I see no reason why the Thorns can't pull off a similar feat in Boston.

Final Thoughts
FC Kansas City managed to beat the Seattle Reign 2-nil yesterday allowing them to leapfrog the Thorns for the second place position. This means that the Thorns are now getting perilously close to the bottom of the playoff positions. With the Western New York Flash at 24 points and the Boston Breakers at 20 points all it takes it for a few more poor performances for the Thorns to be in the bottom half of the standings, someplace the Thorns have never really been before.
Sidenote: How lame is it that the Boston Breakers charge for their livestream?
