The Portland Timbers take on the Vancouver Whitecaps tonight in Cascadia Cup play, with both teams having the opportunity to take the lead, and a big step up the MLS standings as well, with a win.
The Timbers are missing arguably their biggest contributor since joining MLS in Diego Chara, while the Whitecaps are missing two of their own midfielders, Gershon Koffie and Jun Marques Davidson. This might give the Timbers the edge in the middle of the pitch, but the real struggle for the boys in green will be on the perimeter as they seek to pin back Russell Teibert and contain Camilo Sanvezzo.
We did not have any picks last weekend to recognize, but there were a few from the Philadelphia game.
- alantyll, efilnikufsin, and TheMightyG all predicted 1-1 ties, which were futher from the 0-0 score than TimbersBulldog's 1-0 win, but closer in spirit.
We are back to it this week though, so make sure to get your predictions in before game time. Here is what we are looking for:
- The final score.
- Who will score the goals.
- When the goals will be scored.
The more specific, the better.
