The Portland Timbers take on Real Salt Lake tonight in US Open Cup play, with the winner having the opportunity to host the final against the winner of the match between D.C. United and the Chicago Fire.
This should be a free flowing affair in comparison to the Timbers last few foul filled matches as both teams will look to get the ball down and play. It is the first match between Caleb Porter and Jason Kreis, two coaches who are fiery competitors as well as cerebral students of the game. While the two try to out fox each other in their tactics and lineups, as Porter said in practice on Monday, this game will be decided by the football.
Now that we are back in the swing of things with these prediction threads, there are a few people to recognize from Saturday.
- straight red got the score right, predicting a 1-1 draw.
- Ignorant Yank was the only person to correctly predict that Ryan Johnson would score, although his prediction that it would occur in the 50' was off by a whole 30 seconds.
The game tonight is coming up quickly, so make sure to get your predictions in before game time. Here is what we are looking for:
- The final score.
- Who will score the goals.
- When the goals will be scored.
The more specific, the better.
