The Portland Timbers needed three points to move up the standings and to boost their confidence going into the final 5 games of the season. While they did get the 1-0 win they did not play their usual Porterball, instead it was a very physical game with a lot of gritty defensive plays that helped Portland earn the full three points. I know the fans of the Timbers would love to see the fluid possession based style all the time but sometimes you have to win ugly in order to make the playoffs.
This win has put the Timbers in a playoff position with 5 games to go and they continue to add to their club record for the most points in a season.
With the Ugly win how well do you think the players played? As a reminder we use a 10 point scale.
