The Portland Timbers will hold their first training session of the year today and, as usual, I will be there to cover it. The regular summary of the day's events, role call, and occasional note on training will return from last season, but I would like to hear what you would like to see from our practice coverage.
For the earliest word on practice you can follow along with my live tweets from practice at @williamconwell, then check back here in the early afternoon for my full practice write-up.
What to Expect
With so many new players in camp, despite going through a much more sedate off-season than last season, there should be plenty of new arrivals in camp this morning including new strikers Gaston Fernandez and Schillo Tshuma.
Defender Norberto Paparatto may have arrived in town as well although the Timbers could still be waiting on the arrival of his International Transfer Certificate to come through. Mikael Silvestre's attendance is also in question after recent reports have had the team parting ways with the experienced French defender.
The Timbers will also likely be waiting on several of their later-round draft picks to arrive in town, as the players least likely to make the team usually must also contend with finishing or making arrangements for their college courses.
Finally, there is a good likelihood that the Timbers will have several trialists with the team during preseason this year as they seek to fill out their roster.
If there is anything you want to know from today's practice, tweet at me or let me know in the comments below.
