MLS Fantasy League: Stumptown Footy Bragging Rights!

The season is less than a month away and the preseason checklist has started. Next up on the checklist is getting the old soccer noggin working again and joining me in Stumptown Footy's MLS Fantasy League. Last year we had some great players with quite a few finishing near the top of the overall standings, maybe that will be you this year? Or you could be like me and completely bomb out after X amount of weeks. For those who do stick with it until the end I know you will have a whole lot of fun.

Here is MLS' guide to setting up your team:

First things first: You need to register for an MLSsoccer.com account. You can do this with an email address, through Facebook, Twitter, Google, Google+ or Microsoft. If you need to create an account, select the "Sign Up" button at the top of this page. (If you don't see an "Account" button at the top that means you already signed into your account.)

Once you've created your MLSsoccer.com account, it's time to channel your inner Bruce Arena and start piecing together your squad.

One thing to remember: This is a salary-cap game, which means you have a limited amount of money to spend, but you can select any player provided he fits into your budget. Here's the breakdown:

• You have $120 million to spend on a squad of 18 players, with no more than four players from any single team.
• Add a player to your squad by clicking on their name in the list on the right side of the page.
• Use the filters to view different players and narrow your search. Filters exist for everything from position to performance to price.

You also need to give your team a name. And a uniform. Have some fun here. After all, you're the owner, so the team should express your personality.

After you set up your team join the Stumptown Footy Classic League 7869-1337 (If you want me to add a head to head I will but I was going to keep it simple this year).
