The Portland Thorns have released forward Elisabeth Sullivan, the team announced Tuesday.

Sullivan, the Thorns 4th round draft in the 2014 College Draft, made 1 appearance, as a last minute substitute for the Thorns in their 1-0 loss to Seattle Reign FC on May 10.

With midfielder Vero Boquete and defender Stephanie Catley expected to join the team at the beginning of June, the Thorns needed to make space on the active roster, which currently sits at 18 without Boquete, Catley, or midfielder Tobin Heath, who will join the Thorns in mid-June.
