Portland Timbers Man of the Match: A Bright Spot [Fixed]

Who was the Man of the Match in the Timbers' 2-0 win over Chivas?

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

It may be a day later than normal, but it is time to pick the Timbers' Man of the Match from Wednesday's 2-0 win over Chivas USA. With Fanendo Adi scoring the second Timbers' brace in two games, there is a very obvious pick to make, but is there anyone else worth mentioning?

Ryan: Fanendo Adi

His runs were masterful and something we haven't seen from a Timber's striker. The second run was such a smart run as he ran around the defender in the onside position and then broke after Diego Valeri hit the pass. Honorable mention to all 5 defenders who played and Donovan Ricketts for the first clean sheet of the year.
Michael: Fanendo Adi
Pretty woeful game until Jorge Villafana's terrific cross to Adi for the opening goal. As good as the cross was, Adi's finish was fantastic. The second goal was even more impressive from Adi, not just because of his perfectly timed run or rounding of Dan Kennedy, but because the whole sequence started with his one-touch pass from the sideline to Diego Valeri. Hat tip to Caleb Porter for inserting Darlington Nagbe and Valeri to keep us all from falling asleep.
Kelly: Fanendo Adi
I'm sensing another unanimous vote for this week... Honorable mention to Villafana, he's been more than serviceable has Harrington's fill-in.
Kevin: Fanendo Adi
Despite the wrath of Merritt on twitter I'm not sure anyone else on the team would've kept cool and composed enough to beat the keeper in that 1 v 1 situation.
And Villafana comes in a close second for me. Glad this second time he actually gets credited with the assist.
Stacey: Fanendo Adi
Much like the New York game, the goalscorer was a huge bright spot in an otherwise rather sloppy and, in this case, boring game. Credit to both Valeri and Villafaña for setting him up with a couple excellent passes.
Will: Darlington Nagbe
Whoa!? Not Adi? Crazy talk, right? Anyway, the Timbers looked good in the first half, but they were not getting chances on goal. The Timbers suddenly looked much more dangerous once Darlington Nagbe hit the pitch and it was his beautiful pass to Villafana that led directly to the Timbers' first goal. He did not get an assist on the play, but he should have, dang it.
