Portland Timbers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps Prediction Thread

Who will win in the Timbers' first match up against the Whitecaps this year?

Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Spo

The Portland Timbers are looking for their third consecutive win today as they take on the Vancouver Whitecaps tonight. With a spot above the red line and the top spot in the Cascadia Cup standings on the line, this match is hugely important for the Timbers.

After only winning one match in their first eleven games, can the Timbers make it three wins in a row today? Who will get the Timbers' latest brace of goals, following in the footsteps of Maximiliano Urruti and Fanendo Adi in the last two matches? Can the Timbers shut down Vancouver's explosive attacking?

Let's get busy making some predictions.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • The final score.
  • The goalscorers.
  • The timing of the goals.

The more specific the prediction, the better.

The rules: Get your predictions in before kick-off. Correctly predicting the score is worth two points, correctly predicting a goal scorer is worth one point, and coming close to the timing of a goal is worth one point. That's about it. I reserve the right to award bonus points for excessively awesome/accurate predictions.

The Score

I pretty much never have time to update the score in a timely fashion, so I just going to make it its own post mid-week. -Will
