Sorry for the slow week, folks. Time to get back in the saddle. Expect actual content to resume soon! -Will
Until today the Portland Timbers' second to last match, a road fixture against the LA Galaxy, was still listed as "TBA" on the team's calendar. Now, however, the match has been given a time as a part of MLS's first ever flex scheduling and will be played at 4:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, October 18th.
With the Timbers set to take on Real Salt Lake this Wednesday, the team faces an intimidating pair of road matches this week before finishing off the regular season with a final home match against the Colorado Rapids. The match against the Galaxy is particularly intimidating as the Supporters' Shield hopefuls have only lost a single game at home in 2015, posing a record to date of 12-1-3 at the StubHub Center.
Of course, Timbers fans will also remember the team's last trip to LA, where the Timbers were embarrassed to the tune of 5-0. Lopsided victories have been the theme of LA's home form as of late, only failing to find a win in one of their last eight matches in Carson and scoring at least three goals in each of their last seven victories at home.
With only three games to go, points are at a premium more than ever and this matchup to round out MLS's week 33 will be as important as any.
