Good news, everybody! We will finally get to see the new Portland Timbers home kits for the first time ever on March 3rd as a part of Major League Soccer's third annual Jersey Week. With every team's kit still totally under wraps and not a single team owner pledging to "leak" their kits on their own terms in the future, the week should be full of fun surprises for fans of MLS.
We have all seen the pictures of the new Timbers' kit out in the wild thanks to a series of unflattering leaks over the course of the last month. A week from today, however, we will finally see the Timbers jerseys on Timbers players, a move that will undoubtedly make them look much better.
While the fundamental design of the kit may be up for debate, it is hard to make a convincing case that they are not improved by being worn by professional athletes.
The Timbers will always have a high bar set for the team by a demanding fan base and a pair of stellar freshman kits when they entered the league in 2011. Since those beloved first MLS kits, and the following third kits, the Timbers have yet to release a kit that has been acclaimed by the fans in the same way.
