The Portland Thorns New Kits Have Dropped

The Portland Thorns got the first fully custom designed NWSL kit today from Nike and the players are showing it off. Let's check it out.

Being the first fully custom kit, the new Thorns primary kit is one that was designed specifically for the Thorns by Nike. Not based off any generic template with different color patterns, this jersey appears to be cut from a different cloth. An example is the new away kit is from the same template used for the new Reign FC jerseys, but no one in NWSL has anything based off the new home Thorns jersey.

The primary red kit with the dark red thorn design and white helix thorn inseam looks pretty sharp. And the away kit provides a solid, classic stripe kit that contrasts well with the primary. Both of the jerseys are now available online and in stadium.

Fans should get to see the new kits in action this Saturday, April 11th as the Thorns begin the 2015 season at home vs the Boston Breakers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm at Providence Park.
