Turns Out the Eastern Conference is Still Not Very Good, But It is Getting Better

After the Portland Timbers put down the top two teams in the Eastern Conference in an eleven day span, winning 2-1 over D.C. United and 2-0 over the New England Revolution, it became obvious that it is time to revisit the league-wide cross conference results.

In our last go around (here) we found that the Western Conference was on top of the East by a significant margin, holding a record of 19-10-9 (1.74 points per game) against Eastern Conference opposition as of May 11th. This time, just about a month later, things are going slightly less poorly for Eastern Conference teams, with the West now holding a record of 26-16-13 (1.65 ppg) in cross-conference play, having gone 7-6-4 (1.47 ppg) since last we looked.

That last 7-6-4 stretch still gives the advantage to the Western Conference, but not by nearly as much as the first two months of the season.
