The Portland Thorns Will Be Televised

It has been in the works for a while, but FOX Sports has finally come to an agreement with the NWSL to broadcast six of the league's matches, including the Portland Thorns' final two matches of the season, as well as the semi-finals and finals of the NWSL playoffs.

The Thorns' home matches against the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, August 9th, and the Washington Spirit on Sunday, August 30th, will both be broadcast on FOX Sports 1. Both of these matches have been moved to 6:30 p.m. PT from their previous respective start times of 7:00 and 6:00 p.m. PT.

Additionally, the league will have four matches broadcast via the FOX Sports GO app, including two Portland Thorns home matches. The Thorns' match against the Seattle Reign on Wednesday, July 22nd, and against the Boston Breakers on Wednesday, August 5th, will be featured on FOX Sports GO.

It is unclear at this time if the games on FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports GO will still be streamed via YouTube like the rest of the NWSL matches this season.

All of the matches available on FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports GO will not be available for streaming through YouTube, so prepare yourself and make sure you have somewhere to watch these late season matches if you won't be at the games in person.

PORTLAND, Ore. – The National Women’s Soccer League and FOX Sports announced today an agreement to broadcast 10 NWSL matches this season, including four Portland Thorns FC home games at Providence Park.

Portland’s final two regular-season home matches against the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, Aug. 9, and Sunday, Aug. 30, against the Washington Spirit will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1. Both matches have been moved to 6:30 p.m. (Pacific) for live television from their originally scheduled times of 7 p.m. (Pacific) and 6 p.m. (Pacific), respectively.

Thorns FC’s matches against Seattle Reign FC on Wednesday, July 22, and Wednesday, Aug. 5, against the Boston Breakers will be available on tablets and mobile devices via the FOX Sports GO app and online at www.FOXSportsGo.com. Kickoff times for both matches are set for 7 p.m. (Pacific).

In addition to six other NWSL regular-season matches, FOX Sports 1 will air all three games of the NWSL Playoffs, which includes the two semifinals matches on Sept. 13 and the championship match on Oct. 1.
