Over the weekend, Merritt Paulson teased a preseason tournament for the Portland Thorns. Now Paulson's teaser has become a reality as the Thorns have made official their first-ever preseason tournament, to be hosted at Providence Park between March 27th and April 2nd. In addition to the Thorns, the tournament will feature the Houston Dash, Seattle Reign, and Oregon State University.

Running from Sunday to Saturday, the unnamed tournament will have a similar format to the Portland Timbers' Simple Invitational, a round-robin set up with each team playing each other team once over the course of the week.

The Thorns will kick things off with a match against the Reign on the 27th, then face Oregon State on Wednesday the 30th, and finish off their week against the Dash on the 2nd. Also like the Simple Invitational, each of these matches will be a double-header, allowing fans to watch all four teams in action.

Of course, plenty of questions remain about this Thorns side before the start of the season. Will Mallory Pugh join the team? Will Amandine Henry? Who will the team be missing for the Olympics? And, most importantly, can we think of a nickname for this tournament as catchy as the "Rose City Invitational"?
