There have been some blowouts in this year’s MLS Cup playoffs, but coming into the final set of matches before the Final both conference finals are tight as can be. Both high seeds come into today’s matches down a goal, but with away goals in hand a breakthrough will put them in good position to advance.
Notably, the second leg’s matches are spit between Sunday and Wednesday, giving us two days of soccer this week thanks to a conflict of scheduling with the CFL’s Grey Cup. Up first will be today’s battle between the defensive bulwark of the Colorado Rapids and the Nicolas Lodeiro fueled Seattle Sounders, and on Wednesday we will be treated to the bi-lingual derby as Toronto FC host the Montreal Impact.
