Portland Timbers at Houston Dynamo: How to Watch, Previews, Match Chat [6:00]

MLS: Houston Dynamo at Portland Timbers Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

The Portland Timbers can’t afford to look back right now if they want to hold on to their current playoff spot. Instead, the side are facing forward toward tonight’s opposition, the Houston Dynamo.

Previews

Match Preview: “Of course, the Timbers have yet to win on the road in 2016 and have lost their last four matches away from Providence Park (five if you count their CCL loss to Saprissa), so even in a match against the Dynamo, who have only won four times at home this season, there is a certain level of apprehension surrounding the match. Still, a team finishing a season without a road win is a rarity and a team in playoff contention doing so is all but unheard of.”

Preview Interview: “Barrett placed an emphasis on the defensive side of the ball with a goal which, as he says, is to make us “hard to play against”. The Dynamo, since Barrett took the reins, have conceded just 16 goals in 15 games or about 1.07 goals per game which is tied for the 2nd least goals conceded in the league during Barrett’s time as interim manager.”
