Tyler Deric has been suspended by MLS following an arrest related to an alleged domestic incident, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.

According to the league’s statement, “Deric has been suspended pending investigations by MLS and the Houston Police Department. Major League Soccer will remain in close communication with the Houston Dynamo, local law enforcement, and the MLS Players Union during this investigation.” As with Will Johnson’s arrest earlier this year, Deric will remain suspended at least until the league has concluded its investigation, meaning he will not be available for this Sunday’s semifinal second leg in Portland.

This is not Deric’s first run-in with the law, having been previously arrested for a domestic incident in 2015 (after which charges were dropped), and for assaulting a public servant outside a bar in 2012.

The Portland TimbersFanendo Adi and Diego Chara will also be absent from this weekend’s match, both due to injury. Darlington Nagbe, David Guzman, Larrys Mabiala, and Sebastian Blanco are all questionable to return from injuries suffered in the last two weeks.
