The television ratings for ESPN’s broadcast of Toronto FC’s 2-0 win over the Seattle Sounders in MLS Cup 2017 rose 75 percent above the 2015 edition, the last time the championship game was aired on the network. The news was similar in Canada, where viewership of TSN's broadcast rose 25 percent from last season.

According to Swedish news outlet Expressen, New York City FC have signed 26-year-old Swedish right-back Anton Tinnerholm from Malmo. Tinnerholm has 7 international appearances for Sweden, the last of which came in January of 2017.

The 33-year-old is coming off back-to-back 12-goal seasons and leaves the New England Revolution after being unable to lead them to a playoff appearance in either of his two seasons in Foxborough.
