Expansion plans for Providence Park have been hinted and rumored at for months, but now we finally have the first official details from the proposed expansion to the home of the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns.
Posted in the outside of Providence Park today are city notices, announcing a May 11th design commission review of a 4,000 seat expansion to the stadium.

The posting outlines a 100 foot tall “covered seating and arcade structure” on the east side of Providence, replacing the current east side seating. Additionally, the proposed expansion would extend out over the current 18th Avenue right-of-way.
UPDATE: In a now deleted tweet, team owner Merritt Paulson said that stadium renderings would be public “next week”.
