Four Timbers make MLS postseason Best XI

Timbers and Atlanta United dominate.

While the 2018 MLS Cup is in the rearview, MLS released it’s Best XI for the postseason using the Audi Player Index.

Here is your Best XI for the 2018 Postseason.

It should also come as no surprise that both the Timbers and the Five Stripes dominate the team. The team was gathered using the Audi Player Index (which I still don't fully understand), though it did place Diego Valeri, Diego Chara, Sebastian Blanco and Jeff Attinella in the postseason best XI, which I suppose you can’t argue with.

Valeri was named top performer in the MLS Playoffs, and why shouldn’t he have been? He bagged four goals and two assists to lead the 5th seed Portland Timbers to the MLS Cup final. He’s the heart and soul of the Timbers, though that should not come as a surprise to anyone here.

Of the eight players between Atlanta United and the Portland Timbers, there aren’t really big surprises to be had. The only other team to have multiple players is Sporting Kansas City who had Matt Besler and Johnny Russell, which to me was no surprise.
