In the stadium, Timbers and Thorns fans are known for many things. Passion. Intensity. Hating Seattle. Off the field, though, we strive to be the most inclusive and community-minded group of soccer fans anywhere. The Timbers Army and Rose City Riveters do a ton of great work in the community, and we at Stumptown Footy also want to give back to our city.
To that end, we’re holding a pride-month fundraiser for the Sexual and Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) at New Avenues for Youth. SMYRC provides support and community to queer youth, especially those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Here’s how it works: we’re asking you, our readers, to join us in pledging $1 or more for every goal scored by a Timbers or Thorns player in June. You can also make a flat donation.
Click here to donate, and spread the word with the hashtag #StumptownFootyPride.
