Timbers Army unveils epic tifo ahead of Cascadia clash

The twelfth man did their part

The Timbers Army unveiled what is arguably one of the best tifos ever seen in MLS on Sunday night against the Seattle Sounders.

This tifo was somewhat of a follow-up to 2016’s brilliant “Legends Never Sleep” display. Based on Stephen King’s book It (and recent movie), the new tifo featured the phrase “You’ll Float Too.” Surrounding the image of the clown, Pennywise, were dead flounders, painted in an unmistakable rave green and bule. Subtle details included a Rick Astley album and an Xbox floating in the stream between Elm and Morrison streets.

If only the game could have been decided by the many person-hours put into its creation and execution. The disappointing loss to Portland’s rivals hurts even more after this flawless effort off the field; the execution on the field by the Portland Timbers was a different story.

So, what horror movie reference should Portland feature next time?
