Look, for a little while the title to this post was just going to be “Portland Timbers at Minnesota United: Thorns Thorns Thorns”.
The Timbers are on the road against another Western Conference opponent with an outside chance at the playoffs today as they prepare to take on the Loons of Minnesota.
The Timbers come into today in fourth place in the West, but having played a match more than several of their closest competition. If they want to stay in the race for a home match in the MLS playoffs, the Timbers need to start putting in strong performances and getting points wherever they can — and against United is definitely somewhere they are capable of getting a point.
