Timbers 2 secures a spot in the playoffs for the first time

The team earned six wins in the last eight games.

There was at least some good news out of Portland soccer this week: Timbers 2 earned a berth to the playoffs after a draw against Fresno FC on Saturday. With two away and one home game left in the regular season, their performances in these matches will determine their seed going into the playoffs.

The team has been on a tear the past month and a half, winning six out of eight games, and are currently 16-11-4 overall. It’s certainly the right time of the season to be peaking.

There is a lot of talent on this year’s team, including midfielders Marvin Loria, Renzo Zambrano, and Andre Lewis, defender Adrian Diz Pe, and attacker Augustine Williams. Bolstered with first-team Timbers, including Foster Langsdorf — who has 14 goals in 26 appearances — Victor Arboleda, Jack Barmby — who is playing very well — and Jeremy Ebobisse, T2 has plenty of fire power.

Their final home game of the regular season will be played at Merlo Field on October 3rd at 7 p.m.
