How do Timbers spend their $ compared to comparable teams....

I tried to compare the Timbers starting lineup and salaries with Seattle, NYCFC, LAFC and say how we varied. TL/DR, not a lot of surprises, it is interesting to see how various teams spend across the positions (especially NYCFC), but you also see teams making some good steals (LAFC). Note, I had to swizzle LAFC to make it into a 4-2-3-1 (moved Blessing up and made Rossi a forward). Didn't think I could swizzle Atlanta enough to make it work.

$'s k Portland Seattle NYCFC LAFC Average Timbers differ from Ave
Keeper $140 $325 $400 $77 $236 $96
Right Back $545 $550 $500 $70 $416 ($129)
Right C Back $100 $640 $650 $600 $498 $398
Left C Back $750 $670 $600 $200 $555 ($195)
Left Back $600 $530 $300 $165 $399 ($201)
DM1 $550 $570 $850 $166 $534 ($16)
DM2 $250 $460 $150 $475 $334 $84
Right Wing $2,750 $1,000 $350 $700 $1,200 ($1,550)
Center Attacking Mid $2,300 $2,000 $300 $4,500 $2,275 ($25)
Left Wing $175 $500 $500 $93 $317 $142
Striker $1,200 $2,000 $250 $1,000 $1,113 ($88)

My takeaways:

1) Clark is a steal right now, but I imagine he gets a raise this offseason to around 240.

2) I used Tuiloma as our left back, If I had used Dielna we would have been in line. Obviously Dielna is way overpaid to be 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. I imagine the Timbers are going after another proven center back at this point.

3) Villafana is overpaid... no surprise.

4) DM's seem about right, most teams have a proven one and a high energy youngster to pair with them.

5) Attackers are tricky to directly compare given how they're moved around the field. If you uplevel, most teams (including us) are spending about $5m on the 4 attackers. NYCFC is a very different approach.
