The Thorns traveled across the country to face the North Carolina Courage. The result was a nail-biting 1-1 draw, a satisfactory result for most folks. Midge Purce continued her in-form play, scoring the Thorns goal on a lovely volley off a Boureille lob ball.
For the second week in a row, we had two perfect predictions! Congrats to johnmclarke3 and One.Goal.Beyond. This week’s winner, and still season leader, is OGB with 11 of a possible 17 points. OGB called the Purce goal and had the most rec’d wild prediction of the team doing a Gangam Style tribute to Emily Menges.
The next match is Pride Night, Friday at 8:00 pm. The Royals come to town for their first visit to the upgraded Providence Park. They are fresh off an upset 1-0 win over the Washington Spirit, so should be riding high. The Thorns are done with cross-country travel for the 2019 season; perhaps they are feeling like the worst is over.
ROSTER REPORT: Both teams should have their “normal” roster available, assuming Emily Menges has recovered from her thigh injury.
How this works:
Add a comment to this post. In the comment title put your predicted result, for example 3-1 Thorns.
In the body of your comment, start with the goals and assists, like so:
AMC (Free kick)
Next, name the first yellow card recipient: First yellow to Celeste Boureille
Then reds, if any. (NOTE: no points awarded for correctly calling a red-card-free match, so take a guess.) Rebecca Moros gets an early shower for an intentional hand-ball just outside the box.
Make your fun prediction: The match is played with a rainbow ball. The keepers have a tough time judging corner kicks, leading to some scary moments.
Lastly, please recommend one of the other players’ fun prediction.

Some ground rules and explanations/clarifications (the fine print):
Comments must be posted before kickoff, but you can edit or amend an earlier prediction right up to the starting whistle.
Keep your scoreline predictions realistic. No crazy scores just to pad out your odds of getting goals and assists.
The goal/assist bonus is an additional point if you predict the correct scorer and assistant on the same goal, for example, you say Reynolds scores from a Boureille assist and that is exactly what happens. P.S. if you say exactly that, and it happens, I will hunt you down and buy you a beer!
Be clear whether you think a goal will be unassisted, assisted, or from a PK/FK. Unassisted = no assist, run of play; Assisted = player who got the assist; PK/FK = not in run of play. For the purposes of this thread, Penalty Kick and Free Kick are the same thing. No entry means unassisted.
Have fun, tell your friends, let me know if you have any questions or if I screw up your score.
