Madison Pogarch is among the players named to the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team roster for the 2019 Nordic Tournament, it was announced today. Pogarch signed to Portland’s supplemental roster this May. She’s made three regular season appearances for the Thorns, including a start against the North Carolina Courage in June. Pogarch has spent the past couple weeks dealing with a minor ankle injury; today was the first day she was back in training.
“I believe in Po, really believe in her qualities as an attacking full-back,” said coach Mark Parsons, emphasizing that he believes this U-23 camp to be important to Pogarch’s development. “I think she’s got some great attributes, especially her tenacity, engine, left foot, defending ability, her aptitude to get forward and support the attack.”
