Match Thread: Portland Timbers vs San Jose Earthquakes [7:00p]

MLS: Portland Timbers at San Jose Earthquakes Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

After going out and beating up on the San Jose Earthquakes 6-1, the Portland Timbers find themselves on a four-match winning streak, which includes defeats to the Vancouver Whitecaps and LA Galaxy. The Timbers played the Galaxy last and also hung a six-spot on their foreheads: 6-3. The Timbers are on a roll, but the Earthquakes come into town on a roll of their own, winning their last four on the fly.

The Earthquakes are now in playoff contention: That four-game streak put them over the red line in seventh place in the Western Conference. The Timbers, on the other hand, are just three points away from first place.
