U.S. Soccer announced on Wednesday that Lindsey Horan has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not join the USWNT for their match against the Netherlands on Nov. 27. Jaelin Howell, a 20-year-old midfielder who just helped lead Florida State to a 2020 ACC Women’s Soccer Championship, will take her place.
Horan tested positive during the pre-trip testing procedures and is currently “observing the appropriate quarantine protocols.” She is reportedly doing well and no other players have tested positive at this time.
