Yimmi Chara named to second straight MLS Team of the Week

The wing earned a bench spot after hitting the game-winner last night against Vancouver.

For the second week in a row, Portland Timbers midfielder Yimmi Chara has been named to the MLS Team of the Week, earning a bench spot.

Chara scored the lone goal in Portland’s 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps, helping secure first place in the Western Conference for the Timbers. In the game prior to Sunday, Chara had been credited with four assists in a 5-2 victory over the LA Galaxy.
