Portland Thorns FC defender Crystal Dunn was one of 55 players on Thursday to receive the most votes for the 2020 FIFA FIFPRO World 11. She is the only player on the Thorns to make the cut.
Dunn is one of the 12 players from the United States that made the cut. Other players from the U.S. that were included are Julie Ertz, Ali Krieger, Rose Lavelle, Carli Lloyd, Kelley O’Hara and Megan Rapinoe. All of those player are former award winners as well. The club with the most players to appear on the shortlist is reining European champions Olympique Lyonnaise, who had 10 players on the list.
This recognition is yet another honor that Crystal Dunn has earned just this week. Earlier today she was included among The Guardian’s Top 100 Female Footballers of 2020 and on Wednesday she was nominated for U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year.
