There are still some questions to be asked of the current squad, as they made the LA Galaxy match a little closer than it really needed to be. Regardless, the Portland Timbers lead Group F with three points, LAFC and Houston are tied at a point a piece, and the Galaxy bringing up the rear with no points. So, really, with a win tonight against a tough Dynamo team, the Timbers will have most likely punched their ticket forward, depending on the outcome of the LA Galaxy and LAFC match.
Game Day Reading
Timbers vs Houston Dynamo Preview: Expect to see Bill Tuiloma step into the center of defense for the suspended Dario Zuparic. Yimmi Chara and Jaroslaw Niezgoda both made substitute appearances, and young Timbers Eryk Williamson and Marvin Loria both got the start against the Galaxy. Steve Clark came up huge in goal, especially to save the penalty from marquee-signing Javier Hernandez.
