Today, Major League Soccer announced that the postponed match between the Portland Timbers and the San Jose Earthquakes will be played on Sept. 16. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) at Earthquakes Stadium.
The match was postponed due to a large player strike inspired by the Milwaukee Bucks. The strike protested police brutality against Jacob Blake and other Black people across the country.
The Timbers will return to action on Saturday against Real Salt Lake. The match will kick off in Providence Park at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
