Portland Thorns FC release 2021 preseason roster

Portland Thorns FC announced their preseason roster for the 2021 NWSL season on Monday. The NWSL preseason has officially started and the Thorns will begin training camp on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

The NWSL season will start with the 2021 Challenge Cup held in home markets, beginning on April 9. The 24-match regular season will follow and its slated to begin May 15. The regular season will not break for the Summer Olympics.

The full regular season schedule and the format of the Challenge Cup will be announced at a later date.

The Thorns’ four 2021 NWSL Draft picks are playing with their respective college teams for the 2021 NCAA Spring Season. The Thorns retain the NWSL rights of all four player — Yazmeen Ryan (TCU), Sam Coffey (Penn State), Amirah Ali (Rutgers), and Hannah Betfort (Wake Forest).
