It’s been well over a year since the last time the Portland Timbers played a match in Providence Park with fans in attendance, but it’s happening tonight — and it’s a big match. The Timbers are in a great spot to move on in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League tournament, with two away goals in their back pocket and much better conditions in Leg 2.
Everything from their 2-2 draw against CD Marathon back in San Pedro Sula suggests that Portland should be good to go against the Honduran side. They looked dominant early and were aggressive on the attack despite a field that made play difficult at times. There’s a strong argument one could make that the Timbers should have won that game outright. That wasn’t the case, but they have a good chance to do so tonight.
Come join us here in the game thread to talk all things CCL!
